According to legend the topography and geographical structure of PENANG HILL affects the livinghood and prosperity of Penang State, the hill resembles a graruda bird that descend on to the mundane world, a colonial officer had asked a local feng shui how to alter the topography and geographical structure of PENANG HILL in order to control Penang , the Feng Shui master was a kind hearted man he just suggested to colonial officer of building a railway, that did not caused any harm to the Graruda (just a tatoo on the back of Garuda). I am not sure about the reliablity of the story that was told to me by my parent.
